Presenter: Thomas Pennell

Description: Join Thom Pennell, Business Services Coordinator with the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), for an informative presentation on WorkShare IL — a voluntary program designed to help employers manage temporary business downturns without resorting to layoffs. WorkShare IL allows businesses to reduce employee work hours (between 20% and 60%) while employees receive partial Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits to help offset lost wages. This program helps employers retain trained and experienced staff, reduce rehiring and retraining costs, and maintain workforce stability and employee morale.
